Fatoumata Darboe Lower Basic Grade 3
|
Our newest Teacher is Fatoumata Darboe. She joined us in September 2014 and teaches Grade 2 in our Lower Basic School.
Previously she has worked at 2 Nursery schools (Victory Gospel and London Corner) before moving to Seino Primary School for 1 year, near Kotu water tower.
Fatoumata lives with her family in a compound in Sanchaba, which is quite close to the Sunrise Centre. She is married to Lamin and has a young son called Foday, aged 2 years.
Fatoumata’s mother and father both come from the Kiang area of the Gambia. They are all from the Mandinka tribe and her distant relations all came from this same area. Kiang used to be considered quite remote because of poor roads and it’s position the other side of the Bintang Bilong but with the new tarmac roads it is possible to travel there with a journey of a few hours now.
Fatoumata’s father has 2 wives; one has 5 daughters and a son and the other has 4 sons and a daughter (Fatoumata).
