Aminatta will start in Nursery2 at Sunrise in September 2013. Her parents live on the North Bank and she has been living with an Aunt since she was 2 years of age. Her mother farms and the father is unable to work. Aminatta has 7 siblings. The Aunt who looks after Aminatta supports 4 children and does this by selling vegetables and charcoal. There is no water in the compound so they have to fill containers with the kind help of the neighbours.

 Her teacher says that Aminatta is a bright child and is hard working.
