The Centre provides 3 classes for 15 - 20 year olds with the following staff -

 

 

Ali Bah, our Senior Teacher, teaches English and Maths. 

 Ali taught Maths for 3 years in Lower Basic Schools and gained his BSC Economics in 2013.

Saihou Darboe

  

 

Saihou Darboe is a very experienced Tie & Dye and Batik teacher, having worked in nearby skills centres. He is accredited by the Gambia National Training Authority and has published a small book explaining his approach in this important craft. Mr Darboe is also qualified to teach the UNICEF Life Skills course, in which the students have shown great interest.

 

 

Fatou Nyassi Bojang

Fatou, an ex Sunrise skills student, assists with the teaching of sewing and cookery classes.

 

All our staff will be given the opportunity for further training, where necessary. 

Salaries for all staff will be in line with Gambian government pay scales.

Alimatou Jammeh, our cookery teacher, is shown here teaching a class the recipe for a hoisan stir fry.She is currently studying for a Diploma in Cookery and Pastry Management at Gambia Tourism and Hospitality Institute.
